BUILDING AND MANAGING FORECASTS
DiamondTip
gives you a simple but effective sales planning tool called Forecasts
where you set your quarterly revenue objectives.
For example, you would enter $50,000 for Q1, $75,000 for Q2, $125,000
for Q3 and $250,000 for Q4. In this example, the total targeted revenue
for the year is $500,000.
Your Forecast tool now gives you three numbers to compare:
your planned revenues, your pipeline value (see below in "Managing
Sales Pipeline") and your actual revenues coming from closed
deals. By comparing these three numbers you can see how well you are
doing, and make necessary adjustments BEFORE it is too late to do
so.
MANAGING ACCOUNTS & CONTACTS
DiamondTip CRM gives you a number of ways to add contacts and accounts into the CRM. You can add contacts or accounts one at a time as you receive leads, or you can mass import contacts all at once. Once inside the DiamondTip CRM, you can move these contacts and accounts any way you like.
For example, you can move a contact from one account to another, perhaps because that you inadvertently added that contact to the wrong account, or perhaps that contact changed jobs and now works for a different company.
You can transfer ownership of accounts and contacts to others who work with you. For example, if your small company has three people who are responsible for sales, you can assign accounts to each, and move these accounts from one to another as necessary.
ROLE-BASED SECURITY
DiamondTip CRM offers you with role-based security. Only users with sales roles can see accounts and contacts. And these sales members can only see accounts and contacts assigned to them unless they have an Executive or Super Admin role.
This role-based security affects all sales related tools including viewing sales pipeline, call metrics, and other sensitive data.
MANAGING SALES OPPORTUNITIES
DiamondTip CRM has a built-in sales methodology that makes it easy for you to move a prospect from one stage of sales readiness to the next. Everyone is a "Suspect" until they show interest and become "Prospect". The opportunity is "Qualified" when you have properly qualified the opportunity and you know there is something real. The opportunity is "Validated" when you are certain you can help them. The opportunity is "Outlined" when you have sketched out the timeline and costs of the solution and the prospect verbally agrees to your outlined solution, and so on.
Each sales opportunity has a defined target date for closing and a Next Step field where you enter your plan for moving this sales opportunity from its current stage to the next higher stage until successfully closed by the target close date. In this way, you create a detailed plan for each sales opportunity and execute that plan accordingly.
MANAGING SALES PIPELINES
Each of the sales stages discussed above carries a certain predefined probability of closing. The DiamondTip CRM assigns a pipeline value which is a product of the probability of closing and the estimated amount of the sales opportunity.
At any given time, you can see the value of your entire pipeline. For example, let's say that you target $250,000 for your first year sales and you estimate that you need five times in pipeline to meet this revenue objective. This means that you have to have in your sales pipeline $1.25 million in order to comfortably meet and exceed your revenue objective of $250,000.

SALES ACTIVITIES
For each contact in your account, you can set events such as face-to-face meetings, conference calls, demos, and so on. You can also create tasks that have a defined "due by" date, but don't have a start or end time as long as the task is completed by the due by date. These tasks and events help you stay on track so you can successfully engage your prospects from one level of buyer readiness to the next until you have successfully closed the sales deal.
